Kentucky House Judiciary Committee submits Religious Freedom Restoration Act

Many Christians see their religious freedoms under attack. This is a kind way of saying that they see more and more religious persecution in our culture.

The Kentucky legislature is attempting to take action by proposing a new law. However, that state’s political state of affairs may sink the bill if it makes it to the Governor’s office.

What does the bill say? Here is a link to an article reporting it: Link  Here is a link to the bill, Link.

The opposition is predictable. The first words you see in the opposition concern the LGBTQ community. They claim it allows Christians to discriminate against the LGBTQ community. However, the bill’s proponents claim it is for protection, not discrimination.

So, we have the classic case of a new minority constituency with one worldview in opposition to the traditional worldview. The emerging cause of LGBTQ wants to impose its worldview upon an established and more prominent worldview without consequences. It is the more prominent worldview that is seeking protection against legal action.

You will find this scenario repeated over and over as our culture continues to turn to the Left.

The struggle for all remains: how can we live together with respect and dignity toward one another? How can we each express sincerely held beliefs and values that are in conflict? Each side needs protection. Each side needs to be able to live their lives in peace.
