Israel readies for war on 7 fronts as attacks recorded in neighbouring countries
The article above from Yahoo News states the following:
Israel has warned they are in a war on seven fronts as attacks recorded in a handful of neighbouring countries in the last 48 hours spark fears of the conflict escalating to the wider region.
In an address to the Israeli government on Tuesday, Yoav Gallant, the country’s defence minister and one of only three members of its war cabinet, said they were coming under attack from Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank Iraq, Yemen and Iran.
“We are in a multifront war and coming under attack from seven theatres,” he said, before listing them all.
Without specifying, he added that they were taking action on six of the fronts.
If you connect these events with the following scripture (Luke 21: 20-28), things get very interesting.
20 “When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that its desolation has come near. 21 Then those in Judea must flee to the mountains! Those inside the city[c] must leave it, and those who are in the country must not enter it, 22 because these are days of vengeance to fulfill all the things that are written. 23 Woe to pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days, for there will be great distress in the land[d] and wrath against this people. 24 They will fall by the edge of the sword and be led captive into all the nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled by the Gentiles[e] until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
The Coming of the Son of Man
25 “Then there will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and there will be anguish on the earth among nations bewildered by the roaring sea and waves. 26 People will faint from fear and expectation of the things that are coming on the world, because the celestial powers will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 But when these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near!” (From the Holman Christian Standard Bible)
The least I can say about these things is that our present time is intriguing. In verse 20 it speaks of “Jerusalem surrounded by armies.” Well, the reality is that the U.S.A. is about the only nation that is firmly siding with Israel, and the current administration is wavering on that in the face of Palestinian support in our country. The Congress, at the moment, is in a dither about providing financial aid to Israel. If the U.S.A. drops its support, Israel will be all alone.
Who knows what could happen? If Israel sees itself in a situation where it believes Iran will launch a nuclear weapon toward it, will it take preemptive action, which could be nuclear itself? The U.S.A. has two carriers stationed in the Mediterranean Sea, submarines in the area, and ships in the Red Sea that have come under attack from Yemen, and those same ships have shot down a large number of drones directed toward them and commercial shipping. Several U.S.A. outposts in Syria and Iraq have also come under attack with no significant response. When will the U.S.A. respond, and will that response lead to a broader war?
The Ukraine war against invading Russia, an ally of Iran, also is in the picture. If WWIII breaks out, can we afford to support Ukraine and Israel? Will Russia also attack Israel as an ally of Iran? In face of a all-out war, do we have the credit worthiness to borrow enough money for a prolonged effort? Probably not.
Atheists will scoff at concerns of end-times prophecies. The Christians will pray that God will delay or prevent any kind of conflict. Or the Christian may well pray the prayer of the Apostle John in Revelation 20:21, “He who testifies about these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus[h] be with all the saints.[i] Amen.”
I present these ideas for prayer and meditation. All serious believers eagerly await His return. It has always been imminent but not immediate. It is closer now than ever before to being immediate.
